7 Reasons Why Ulwell is One of the Best Campsites in Dorset

July 5th, 2019

With miles upon miles of unspoilt views and some of the prettiest beaches in the country, it’s unsurprising that Dorset is one of the most popular camping destinations in the UK.  We think that Ulwell Holiday Park is one of the best campsites in Dorset. Here’s just 7 reasons why…

1. Excellent location

Ulwell Holiday Park boasts stunning views across the Purbeck hills and towards Swanage Bay. Our picturesque site affords visitors a quiet place to relax and unwind, whilst enjoying the tranquillity of the Dorset Countryside. Despite its rural location, Ulwell is conveniently located for enjoying a number of nearby attractions, including Durlston Country Park and Arne Nature Reserve. Swanage’s award-winning blue flag beach and bustling town centre are just a short drive, bus journey or 30-minute walk away.

2. Dog friendly

We welcome all members of the family to our Swanage Holiday Park, so there’s no need to leave your four-legged friend at home! Dogs are allowed on our camping and touring pitches as well as a selection of our holiday homes. There are numerous scenic walks nearby, many of which can be accessed from the site. There are also a selection of dog friendly beaches within easy reach of the park, providing a choice of places to cool off on a hot summers day. Ulwell Holiday Park offers some of the best dog friendly accommodation in Swanage as well as a dog friendly bar!

 3. The Village Inn

Our onsite bar and restaurant, The Village Inn is the ideal spot to enjoy a delicious meal after a busy day exploring the local area. The Village Inn has recently benefited from a complete refurbishment, which boasts a luxury nautical interior, a tasty menu crafted using locally sourced ingredients and a well-stocked bar. The relaxed atmosphere makes for a great dining experience, whether you’re looking to enjoy a quick lunch or 3-course meal for two.

4. Family friendly

Children will love the extensive outdoor play park, which features a large climbing frame, slide and swing! There’s also an indoor heated swimming pool, separate toddler pool and a waterslide, which will provide hours of family fun and laughter during your stay.

Our grounds team work hard throughout the year to ensure that our holiday park is immaculately clean and tidy. Visitors often remark on the high standard of our shower block and the attention to detail across the park. Our touring pitches are level and extremely spacious, meaning there’s plenty of room to spread out.

What our guests say

  • A lovely quiet site

    Andy Blackwell

A lovely quiet site, nice warm amenities with good sized shower cubicles, shop not open yet as it’s too early but the local pub is ideal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If you’re reasonably fit you can walk into Swanage but the bus service is great so why would you want to. Overall a very nice break, we will be back.

  • Super swimming pool
