Ulwell Holiday Park is ideally situated for you to take advantage of a wide range of activities and local attractions in Dorset. There are so many beautiful places to visit in the Purbeck region and wider area, you certainly won’t be stuck for things to see and do during your time at our Swanage caravan and camping park.

The busy Victorian seaside town of Swanage has many attractions for all the family to enjoy during a stay at our caravan and camping park. The blue flag beach is the perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon, while the kids paddle and play in the sand. The restored pier is a hit with visitors and the town is popular among watersports and diving enthusiasts. Seasonal boat trips are available for groups wanting to explore the area by sea.

For children, there are amusement arcades, the Dorset Water Park  and Durlston Country Park. Putlake Adventure Farm provides a fun day out giving little ones a chance to get close to the animals and experience a taste of country life. There are plenty of shops to peruse, including independent stores and boutiques. Enjoy a tasty meal in one of the popular pubs, cafes and restaurants dotted around the town.

A trip on Swanage Railway is an absolute must during during your break at Ulwell Holiday Park. Along the route you’ll be able to take in far reaching views overlooking the historic ruins of Corfe Castle. The popular town of Poole is easily accessible from our campsite in Swanage. Take the chain ferry from Studland to Sandbanks and spend the day exploring the picturesque harbour and bustling quay. It’s easy to while away a couple of hours taking in the views. Sit on the harbour wall and watch the boats come and go.

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can stop for a bite to eat or a drink as the sun goes down. Or, you could venture into the town centre to explore the shopping centre, which features popular top national brands.

If you’re interested in getting out on the water during your stay with us, Poole is the place to go. There are plenty of fishing and sightseeing trips to choose from, including ferry rides to Brownsea Island. Other attractions include watersports lessons, Upton Country Park and Tower Park entertainment complex.

If you’re craving the bright lights of the city, head to Bournemouth during your Dorset break. The bustling city centre has much to offer, including high street favourites, top restaurants and fantastic family attractions. The beach has been voted one of the best in the UK and there are plenty of attractions to explore. We highly recommend heading to Bournemouth Pier where you’ll find Rock Reef climbing centre and an awesome zip line to the shore.

The Oceanarium is popular with younger members of the family and there are family fun parks nearby. The gardens is perfect for a picnic.

There is so much to discover and experience around picturesque Purbeck; gateway to the Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site.

What our guests say

  • A lovely quiet site

    Andy Blackwell

A lovely quiet site, nice warm amenities with good sized shower cubicles, shop not open yet as it’s too early but the local pub is ideal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If you’re reasonably fit you can walk into Swanage but the bus service is great so why would you want to. Overall a very nice break, we will be back.
