Wareham Town Centre
Wareham is one of the oldest towns in Dorset – with a fantastic history stretching back over 2000 years! This pretty riverside town is filled with historic information points, which allow for you to learn more about the rich tapestry that is Dorset history.
Wareham’s town centre features a variety of quaint and independent shops – many of which sell trinkets and gifts that are the perfect way to commemorate your time in Dorset. What’s more, there are plenty of charming restaurants and cafes to discover with picturesque views along the River Frome! We highly recommend that treat yourself to a delicious fish and chip meal and sit by the riverside, where you can watch boats and wildlife go by – or simply relax by the water!
Wareham Quay hosts an assortment of events throughout the year – including a weekly market! The Wareham weekly market commences every Saturday from around 8:00am. Here, you’ll be able to sample and purchase a range of local goods including plants, flowers, fresh vegetables and fruit, cheeses, hot food, collectables, antiques and more!

If you’d prefer to experience a leisurely boating trip whilst on holiday in Dorset, there is also a tour boat that departs from the quayside every few hours. Tour boats head out into Poole Harbour and offer a glimpse of the plentiful birdlife.
Cycling
Wareham is great day trip for those looking to enjoy a cycling holiday in Dorset! Wareham offers several cycling routes and trails in the area, all of which provide guests with scenic views and fresh air. One of the most popular cycling trails in Wareham is the Northport Greenway and Sika Trail. The Northport Greenway and Sika Trail is a circular 3km cycling route in Wareham and it usually takes two hours to complete (depending on cycling experience and ability). Wareham Forest is dog-friendly, however we kindly ask that all guests keep dogs on the leash as to not upset or disturb the cattle and wildlife that live in and around Wareham Forest.
