Crazy Christmas Children’s Activity Trail – 14th December – 2nd January
If you’re looking for an exciting Christmas activity to do with the kids whilst on holiday in Swanage, we recommend heading out to Durlston Country Park for the exciting Crazy Christmas Children’s Activity Trail! This fantastic festive trail leads families around the beautiful park, allowing you to soak up the beautiful scenic landscapes of the Jurassic coast as you go. Along the trail, you will find plenty of exciting activities and challenges to help Santa and his elves get ready for Christmas!

The Polar Express: 18th November – 30th December 2023
The Polar Express is a magical Christmas activity for all the family to enjoy! Based on the popular Christmas film, The Polar Express is an hour-long train journey that takes all guests to ‘the North Pole’! Just like in the film, families are encouraged to board the Polar Express dressed in their comfiest dressing gowns and pyjamas! As the steam train winds its way through the scenic landscape of Swanage, guests are treated to more than just a ride!
One of the highlights of this fantastic Christmas attraction includes the opportunity to enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate and a cookie – just like in the film! Throughout the journey, the train carriages come alive with the spirit of Christmas! Talented actors (playing various characters from the film) will interact with guests, whilst singing and dancing their way down the aisles!

Swanage Christmas Market – 2nd December 2023
If you’re looking to get a few Christmas presents for your loved ones, or a festive memento to remind yourself of your holiday in Swanage – we highly recommend paying a visit to the fantastic Christmas Market in Swanage! On the 2nd of December, the streets of Swanage’s town centre will be lined with market stalls! Adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations, the market stalls will sell a wide variety of wares, from local produce, hand-made crafts, art inspired by the beautiful Jurassic Coast and delicious hot drinks to warm you up! Walk through Swanage’s beautiful town centre and treat yourself to an authentic coastal Christmas experience.
Lighting Up Lives – Christmas on Swanage Pier – 16th December
For a festive activity for the whole family to enjoy, we highly recommend heading down to Swanage Pier for the fantastic ‘Light Up Lives’ event. This incredible Christmas event in Swanage has a wide selection of attractions on offer, including musical performances from local artists, sea shanties, Christmas donkeys, live entertainment AND a visit from Father Christmas and his elves!
This is a free Christmas event in Swanage, however, payment is required to guarantee your little ones will be able to see Father Christmas!
