We’re delighted to announce the opening of our brand-new SPAR convenience store and coffee shop at Ulwell Holiday Park, bringing a fantastic new facility to our holiday guests and the local Swanage community. The new store was officially opened by Swanage’s Mayor, Chris Tomes, who joined us to celebrate this exciting addition to the park.
Located next to our reception, the well-stocked SPAR shop offers a convenient place to pick up everyday essentials, groceries and other provisions, while our new coffee shop serves artisan coffee and freshly baked pastries.
A Welcome Addition for the Swanage Community
Our new SPAR shop isn’t just for holidaymakers. It’s also open to local residents, providing a convenient shopping option following the closure of the area’s previous store three years ago.
As a family-run business that has been part of the Swanage community for over 40 years, we’re always looking for ways to improve our facilities and support the local area.

More Than Just a Holiday Park
Alongside our new shop and coffee shop, we’re proud to offer a range of facilities that can be enjoyed by both our holiday guests and the wider community.
Our popular Village Inn provides a welcoming place to meet friends and family, with a menu featuring fresh local produce. We’ve also recently opened a beautiful new beer garden, complete with peaceful woodland seating surrounded by native trees.
Earlier this year, we made a major investment in extending the Village Inn’s kitchens to accommodate its growing popularity. Our indoor swimming pool also plays an important role in the community, hosting swimming lessons and children’s swimming parties.
Celebrating Our Family Business Success
Our commitment to the local community was recently recognised at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards, where Ulwell Holiday Park was named among the top three businesses in the Family Business Award category for the South & Thames Valley region.
Owned by the Orchard and Scadden families for more than 40 years, we’re proud to support local employment, provide training opportunities and contribute to the wider Swanage economy through the visitors we welcome each year.
We’re also continuing to invest in the park, with recent improvements including refurbished shower blocks and the introduction of our popular glamping pods.
As Kevin explains:
“We are always looking to improve and develop the park. By doing so, I hope we can carry on increasing visitor numbers each year because this will enable us to continue sharing our success with our community.”
