The Swanage Folk Festival is back for 2023 and promises to be a spectacle for the whole family. Over the course of the 3-day event there will be a host of colourful dance displays, ceilidh’s and music workshops taking place at fantastic venues throughout Swanage town centre.
There are plenty of live acts to look forward to over the 3 day weekend. The lineup is still being finalised, but Merry Hell, Honey & The Bear, Thorn and Roses, The Carrivick Sisters and a host of other folk bands have been confirmed so far.
The festival will also welcome dance sides from around the country. They will perform a variety of folk dances from England, Ireland, Bulgaria and Slovakia in traditional style clothing. Think bells, handkerchiefs and bright tassels!
The market and craft fair is the place to go if you fancy indulging in some retail therapy over the weekend. There will be around 70 stalls selling a wide selection of goods from around the world, including jewellery, clothing, artwork and homeware. You’ll also find vendors serving delicious food and drink.
Swanage Folk Festival takes place at various locations across Swanage, including Sandpit Field, Prince Albert Gardens and Stone Quay. We recommend purchasing a festival programme with map to find your way around the festival and ensure your’e in the right place at the right time!
The majority of the festival is free, but some events, workshops and evening concerts are chargeable. You can purchase tickets in advance to secure your slot. Early bird discount is available.
